Assignment #2 Shadows

This week's assignment is Shadows and i think i did very well on it. Well, a lot better then my first assignment anyway, but I'm still getting used to taking pictures as an art rather then for fun. I went out to take the pictures in the day time, where there is a lot of sun, and for inside pictures i would stage things and use a lamp and tripod.

Mr. Hill liked this photo a lot and so do I. I think the main reason why Mr. Hill liked this picture tho is because he likes my dad's pee wee Herman bike. ha ha. But i was surprised the sun created such a great, clear shadow of it, but pleased at the same time. I contrasted the shadows and highlights as much as i could without distorting the quality of the image, so I think i did it just enough.

This picture I staged a pool latter and my dad's John Deere hat and the result is very funny. What I also like about this picture is how clear the shadow is, and how the latter is bright blue in the bottom left corner, so that also catches the viewer's eye.

For this picture i used my tripod and lamp down in my basement, and I think this picture turned out awesome. It is a little bit creepy and kind of reminds me of a ghost chair. I'm also glad I used sepia because it intensifies the ghost aspect, and although it could have been more clearer I am still very pleased with it.
